Home CCTV systems are a proven deterrent to any burglar that is considering targeting your home, however, not all home CCTV systems are the same, nobody wants to spend their hard-earned money on a home CCTV system to protect their home and family, only to find out that the home CCTV system that they have purchased won't produce identifiable images for a prosecution.

Ask yourself this question, How many times have you seen CCTV footage on social media or in the news and thought to yourself, how am I supposed to recognise the person in the image, this is quite often because the CCTV camera that recorded that particular image was incorrectly positioned, the face of the target did not fill a large proportion of the captured image, the camera resolution was also very low, you need to zoom into the image in an attempt to view and identify any features on the target, when this happens the image becomes blurry and the target unidentifiable.

We only install high definition home CCTV systems, from reputable and reliable manufacturers, all our home CCTV systems are fully bench tested before being installed in your home, our home CCTV systems are equipped with the correct hard drive size, this ensures you have the correct amount of recording time without the risk of valuable evidence not being captured, many companies install smaller hard drives so that they can maximise profits, they achieve recording targets through the use of motion only recording, this can mean that valuable footage is not recorded if the criminal activity takes place out of the selected motion zones.
Home CCTV System Design.
The correct CCTV camera selection is integral to your home CCTV system design, most CCTV cameras available on the market today will produce footage during daytime hours without any issue, however, it is usually during the evening and night that a lot of CCTV cameras can falter, producing grainy images due to insufficient infra-red lighting, installing CCTV cameras high up on soffit or eves boards often makes for an easier installation, however, the infra-red light now has to illuminate even further before the target area can be seen, selecting the incorrect night vision capability on your camera can mean the difference between having a clear target area image at night and unfortunately seeing nothing.
As mentioned above, the correct placement of home CCTV cameras is integral in a professionally designed home CCTV system, we believe there isn't one single home CCTV camera that can provide the correct image in all circumstances, a CCTV camera that has a wide-angle view would not provide a detailed image when positioned to cover a narrow alleyway, similarly to a narrowed view home CCTV camera, would not provide the required image when positioned to cover a wide-open car park or large residential garden.

Home CCTV Camera Positioning.
The traditional way of defining requirements for the resolution of a CCTV system has been by specifying what percentage of the full screen the target object will occupy. Different surveillance targets require different percentages. For example, detecting the presence of a person in a CCTV cameras field of view could require that the person occupies 10% of the screen, However, Recognizing a known person could require that the person occupies more than 50% of the screen, even further, identifying that person could require 80% or more.

Other criteria are valid for objects such as license plates, where typical recommendations are that the height of letters should be represented by 15 pixels (corresponding to about 200 pixels/m) to ensure legibility.
When a CCTV camera is positioned for detection, the CCTV operator should be able to distinguish that the intruder is human, very few other characteristics are available to the operator.
CCTV Camera - Identification
The ability to positively identify a person beyond a reasonable doubt. this level of detail provides sufficient image quality to identify an individual or clearly read a vehicle license plate.
Active deterrence cameras can actively warn off intruders with light and siren, alerting users with real-time notifications.

Home CCTV Camera Types.
Anti-Vandal Dome - Home CCTV Camera
Vandal-resistant CCTV cameras are designed to be rugged and tough so that they will continue working when subjected to rough treatment. The best vandal-resistant CCTV cameras will withstand direct blows to their housings and lens covers without breaking and without interrupting the video.
Vari-Focal - Home CCTV Camera
Varifocal lens CCTV cameras come in various aperture sizes, generally, the smallest aperture size of varifocal lens used in home CCTV cameras is around 2.8-12mm, the largest is 5-100mm. A larger aperture means that you can zoom in closer and view images in more detail, a smaller aperture means that you can zoom out further to see a wider area.
PTZ Dome - Home CCTV Camera
PTZ CCTV cameras are used in situations in which the machine vision camera must move to cover a larger area or automatically identify and follow a moving target, PTZ CCTV cameras are a common choice for the most advanced security and surveillance applications, such as the monitoring of critical infrastructure.
Fixed Lens - Home CCTV Camera
A CCTV security camera that has a fixed lens is permanently set, meaning that its angle of view, focal length and level of zoom cannot be changed unlike a varifocal CCTV camera, PTZ CCTV cameras are an example of a popular camera form that includes a varifocal and motorised lens.
